About TSU

Identity

We are Shaun Anderson and John Scarth — two guys who’ve bonded over a shared passion for video, photography and the outdoors. Having honed our skills in the world of action sports, we have learned to shoot in variable, unpredictable conditions. This has taught us to be imaginative, resourceful and how to get the work done in any environment. In our search for powerful visuals we’ve stood on mountaintops, hung out of helicopters, explored the remote Marshall Islands, and picked our way through the streets of post-war Bosnia. And we don’t mind taking a break to work in the studio, either.

That’s our story — now let’s tell yours.

We are a full-service production company specializing in short and mid-length format messages. Our mission is to tell the story behind your products and services by showcasing them against a backdrop of powerful imagery.  Together, let’s spark the imaginations of your audience.

Long Beach Lodge Series | ‘Come on by’

To coincide the Long Beach Lodge being voted top three in this year’s Conde Nast reader’s choice awards, we were asked to put together a 60 second spot teasing what a guest can expect from their stay. The voice-over-driven piece transports the viewer from the beach at sunrise through to sunset.

Showcasing the 2013 line, we chose an abandoned resort as our backdrop. This one-day shoot produced the photo and video material for the 2013 catalogue.

RC Heli Shoot | Siteline Media

RC Heli Shoot | Siteline Media

We believe in working with cutting edge technology, so we paired up with Siteline media. Their nimble remote controlled helicopter is capable of flying a few of our cameras in environments at all other aircraft would find impossible. The partnership adds a unique perspective to our work and heightened production value for our clients.

TIIPZ | ‘Choice’ Spot

TIIPZ | ‘Choice’ Spot

This project was different from anything we had done before. The company’s product uses social media to create an interaction between a business and client that is rare. It’s this relationship that we found most important. We focused on choice in this voice over driven spot to get the their message across.

Long Beach Lodge Series | ’57 Chevy

Long Beach Lodge Series | ’57 Chevy

Initially, our work with the lodge focused on profiling the staff at the breathtaking Vancouver Island location. However this spot will highlight the drive and romance of the road. Having a ’57 Chevy at our disposal for the shoot was a great way to spend the day not to mention tell this great story. This sequence is a just a glimpse of the piece that is currently in post production.

Rip Curl Stew Collection | Jeremy Koreski Profile

Rip Curl Stew Collection | Jeremy Koreski Profile

Contest coverage can easily turn into a Groundhog Day of content, with little or no changes year-to-year. We brought this problem to the attention of Rip Curl and, after some back and forth, the Stew Collection was born. The intent was to not only produce event coverage, but a variety of pieces that step away from the contest and showcase what surfing on the West Coast is all about. This is a look at local photographer Jeremy Koreski.
